Some Advice

I wonder why you sit here,
eyes passing over symbols
that are supposed to equal
some kind of meaning. You know,
I spent my years permutating
and making up
“words,” “letters,” “punctuation.”
I’ve been told they mean
something. Though I could not
tell you what. Yet here you are, “reading”
all of it when you could be living.

Take my advice, dear:
Go live. Do not let my words live for you.
