Baby the smoke from our firework
kisses blinded us for days,
and we walked around town
as if we owned the place.
I didn’t want it to end. No, those hazy
days kept me going, kept me alive.
Now I’ve got nothing
but handfuls of ashes.
You’ve been sleeping for the past
three days, three days, and I just
can’t seem to wake you anymore,
you’re so dead asleep.
I’ve called the fire department
and China, too, but there’s nothing to be
done. What’s a girl to do?
Damn those fireworks, baby.
